FROM PAIN TO POWER

WITH JAN WAKEFIELD DARVAS

Unstable blood sugar is the most rampant cause of health issues in the world today. Considering mainstream food is primarily grab-and-go carbs and low quality fast food that is exorbitantly high in sneaky sugars, you can see where many folks can get stuck.

Take Note: You cannot manage your blood sugar by accident. While managing it is not hard, you do need to know a few fundamentals.

No matter what your epigenetics or metabolic profile, high glycemic foods wreak havoc on your blood sugar and subsequently your metabolism, your energy, your cravings, your sleep, your response to the various stressors in our lives, your body composition, your hormones... and the list goes on.

For example, chronic migraines, endometriosis, autoimmune symptoms, heart disease, digestive issues, excessive weight gain, a low sex drive (yes, it's true) and challenging menopausal symptoms can all be traced back to blood sugar and the inflammatory response (IL-6) that follows suit.

While changing your diet is often the most daunting of endeavors, let me remind you that old ways won't open new doors.

Jan Wakefield Darvas:

Today, I am healthier and in better shape than ever. My metabolism is active, my skin glows, and I am deeply happy with who I am. Why? I changed my diet. Period.

I cannot say that I sought out a better way of eating just to lose weight. Instead, I changed my diet in attempt to rid myself of horrible, debilitating migraines. Chronic migraines left me in tremendous pain for days, weeks, or months at a time.  For ten years, I spent more time in doctor's offices and hospitals than I spent in those place the previous three decades combined. Nothing really helped until I changed my diet.

The changes in my diet reset my metabolism, helped me shed unwanted pounds and thigh dimples, and it has greatly lowered my pain level and duration. I have my life back! I feel better. I look better.
