"WE HAVE THE CAPACITY TO TRANSFORM DIFFICULT EXPERIENCES INTO A WELLSPRING OF PERSONAL AND SPIRITUAL POWER. "
KIMBERLY ANN JOHNSON
The tragedy that happened here in Boulder last week has left so many of us with heavy hearts and tender souls.
Likewise, it has been just 2.5 weeks since the mass shootings in Atlanta, the news has been filled with more and more counts of violence towards the Asian community, and we are just over 3 months since the attack on the capitol.
We need tools and support to unpack these individual and collective traumas and tend to our crumbling world.
Like many of you, I have experienced many waves of emotion over the past days––sadness and tears, immense fear, shock, rage, numbness and restless nights. I have caught myself tracking my surroundings more –– protecting my safety and even feeling a bit hyper-vigilant when out in public.
Trauma shows up in so many forms.
While we know there is no quick fix for healing from such collective traumas, there are many ways we can tend to ourselves and each other with love and kindness along the way.
What impacts one, impacts all.
Yet, we are conditioned to respond in ways that separate us, leaving us spiraling through a cycles of trauma — collectively and individually –– without any signposts to help us heal.
That said, I have an extra potent podcast episode with my friend Kimberly Ann Johnson to share with you today. Her new book,Call Of The Wild ~ How We Heal Trauma, Awaken Our Own Power and Use It For Good, is hitting the shelves April 15th!
Kimberly helps women learn to speak their body’s language and transmute trauma into positive, reparative experiences in the present.
When it comes to tending to our trauma and healing, she is the first person I turn to for insight.
This episode could not be more timely, and I am relieved to share this important conversation with you today.
